Meet Devon
Devon Toovey is a writer, poet, and emotional archivist—gathering the pieces of herself the world told her to bury. Her work is raw, vivid, and unfiltered, shaped by a life marked by pain, desire, grief, and slow-burning resilience. Peeled, her debut poetry collection, is a reckoning: with heartbreak, hunger, ghosts, and the survival that made her into someone she never thought she was allowed to be. She writes more honestly than she probably should, but doesn’t see the point in doing it any other way. Her imagination is vivid—often more real than reality—and her inner world is stitched together with longing, heat, and the sharp need to be known. She’s both too much and not enough, soft and sharp, wicked and weary. She loves hard, forgives easily, and turns ache into art. Devon lives long and prospers with her two opinionated cats, Loki and Rey. Part walking 90’s aesthetic, part naptime enthusiast, part soft-hearted poet who writes like she feels too much—because she does. A Florida girl (but not like that!), she’ll be moving across the ocean for love, for reinvention, and for a life that finally feels like her own. Her writing is a spell—whispered, worn, and a little wicked, meant for anyone who finally realized that they deserve more.
